Revitalizing Kale Smoothie

This smoothie is perfect for using up bruised and ripe fruits, but the highlight is the slightly limp, not-so-fresh looking kale. As long as there's no water leaching out, the greens should be fine! Add them to the smoothie for a huge nutritional boost in your day.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 banana
  • 1 apple
  • 1 orange
  • 1 cup slightly wilted kale
  • 0.5 cup milk (can substitute almond/soy/nut milk)
  • 0.5 cup water
  • Optional: a spoonful of yogurt, chia seeds, hemp hearts, almonds or oats

Method
 

  1. Wilting leafy greens, browning bananas, and over-ripe berries don't have to be thrown out. They are great to use for smoothies!
