Best Storage
The fridge is the best place to store celery.
Wrap the root end of the celery in a paper towel, place the whole celery in an airtight bag and store in your fridge.
Can I Freeze It?
Yes.
Chop celery and store it in an airtight container in the freezer, or add it to a bag of chopped onions and carrots to make a quick base for many stews and soups.
Fresher For Longer
Place soft or limp celery into an ice water bath for five to 10 minutes. It will soon crisp up again. Remove from water, dry and store in the fridge.
Use It Up
Celery is a great snack for kids: just add peanut butter and raisins. Or chop it up raw for salads and dips. You can also chop and cook celery along with onions and carrots as a flavourful base for soups, stews and pasta sauces.
Did You Know?
Make sure you save the base of the celery when you are cutting it – you can use it to regrow more celery!
