Best Storage
The fridge is the best place to store melon.
Cut melon should be stored in the fridge. Whole melon should be stored in a cupboard or on the countertop.
Can I Freeze It?
Yes.
Slice melon in wedges or bite-size chunks and freeze in a sealed airtight container. Once defrosted, you must store melon in the fridge and consume within 24 hours.
Use It Up
Get creative with your melon skin and use it as a bowl for fruit salads! This adds to the flavour and saves washing up.
You can also try wrapping watermelon chunks in prosciutto or ham and then grilling them.
Did You Know?
You can pickle and preserve watermelon rinds. They taste great, last a lot longer, and the rind has a surprising amount of health benefits.
