Best Storage
The cupboard or pantry is the best place to store rice.
Store dry rice and grains in their original packaging, sealed with a clip, or in an airtight container in a cool dry place. Cooked rice should be served and eaten immediately. Leftover cooked rice can be kept in the fridge. Always reheat until piping hot before eating.
Can I Freeze It?
Yes.
Cool rice quickly and then cover and store in the freezer in an airtight sealed bag. Defrost in the fridge and reheat until piping hot.
Use It Up
Add leftover rice to soups or burritos, make fried rice or rice croquettes, or stir up a classic rice pudding.
Did You Know?
Dry rice can be kept up to two years if stored airtight in a dark and dry place.
Add a few grains of uncooked rice to your salt shaker. This will stop the salt from getting damp and needing to be thrown away.
