Save your “ugly” apples

Save your “ugly” apples

Whenever I have an “ugly” apple in my bag, I peel and chop them up to make apple sauce. And then I use that apple sauce as egg replacement in baking. 1/4 cup of apple sauce can replace an egg but you shouldn’t use more than one cup per recipe. Adds moisture, doesn’t affect flavour and saves cost for eggs. You can also turn the peels into candied apple peels by sprinkling them with a cinnamon/sugar mix and baking them for 2 – 2/1 hours at 225 F. Great snack/addition to granola.
