Best ways to store and use Radishes

What is the best storage for radishes? Can you freeze radishes? How long do radishes last in the fridge? We have answers to all of these food-saving questions and storage tips:

Best Storage

The fridge is the best place to store radishes.

Ensure your fridge is set between 0 and 4° C.

Can I Freeze It?

Yes.

Freezing radishes will alter their texture slightly as they are composed mostly of water. You can minimize this change in texture by cutting and blanching radishes before freezing them.

Fresher For Longer

For longer storage in the fridge, put unwashed radishes with their greens removed in a reusable bag with a slightly damp paper towel.

Use It Up

You can pickle radishes to use at a later date in tacos, burgers and salads.

Did You Know?

In some cultures, radishes are eaten to relieve stomach ache, facilitate digestion, eliminate excess body water and regulate blood pressure.

Radish leaves also contain high amounts of nutrients, and can be incorporated into soups and curries.
