Best Ways To Store And Use Lettuce

Best Storage

The fridge is the best place to store lettuce.

Store all varieties of lettuce in the fridge in their original packaging or loosely wrapped in a damp cloth inside a loosely tied bag.

Ensure your fridge is set between 0 and 4°C.

Can I Freeze It?

No.

Foods with high water content, like lettuce and cucumber, do not freeze well.

Fresher For Longer

For longer lasting lettuce, choose whole lettuce instead of lettuce in a bag or clam shell.

Lettuce gone a bit limp? Soak individual leaves in a bowl of cold water in the fridge – they’ll soon perk up.

Use It Up

Cook lettuce in a griddle pan or on the barbeque – it’s the charred bits that make it delicious! Add leftover lettuce to stir fries or soups, such as pea soup.
